Huntingdon Valley PA, September 20, 2006: Alpha Systems, an established provider of EMR services, electronic document management (EDM) and imaging, today announced that it has opened an office in Pittsburgh to serve the EMR needs of providers in the greater Western Pennsylvania area and the Ohio Valley region.
"There are a number of hospitals in the region that are moving ahead on their journey to implement EMR solutions and we want to be right there, right around the corner so to speak to help them with their initiatives, said Brett Griffith, president and COO of Alpha Systems. "Among the more immediate needs will be assisting them with scanning and document management of patient records, especially as these relate to business continuity and disaster recovery."
According to Mr. Griffith, the company also anticipates providing Day After Discharge (DAD) services where medical records are scanned and returned within 24 to 48 hours. He said access to medical records is most urgent in the first 90 days whether it's by physicians, billing and research departments or quality control and outside vendors.

Edward C. Tirpak, RHIA, formerly with Siemens Medical Solutions in Malvern, PA, will manage the new office, located at 51 Clairton Blvd., in Pittsburgh, where he represented the company's clinical IT applications for its Enterprise Health Information Systems. Previously, Mr. Tirpak was with QuadraMed Corporation as a regional sales representative, managing a multi-state territory including Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
